Playboi Carti drops Die Lit out of nowhere so it seems on May 11th of 2018. The young artist returns from his self titled freshman album, Playboi Cart, with a new sound, same energy and better waves.

On this adventure, Playboi Carti received assistance from Skepta, Travis Scott, Lil Uzi Vert, Pi’erre Bourne, Nicki Minaj, Bryson Tiller, Chief Keef, Gunna, Red Coldhearted, Young Thug and Young Nudy. Die Lit is 19 tracks adding up to 58 minutes long. I kept listening to this album, many of the songs grew on me.

Currently most played song is “Home (KOD)” which segue into “Fell In Luv” featuring Bryson Tiller. The way these two songs play into each other the transition is fluid and amazing. Home (KOD) sounds good in the car and headphones. Listening to this track without a reaction is almost impossible, like listening to Heartbreak on Encino Hills, easily a favorite on this album. Hearing Bryson Tiller on “Fell In Luv” was great right after his tweet about depression and not doing his best on True To Self. “No Time” sounds like a looped Mario beat, Carti drowns out the things that annoy him by saying he drop his demons off because he ain’t got time. Throughout the whole album you can hear Playboi Carti play with his vocals so that he can have a better sound and fit better within the production of a song.

Playboi Carti songs can be labeled as simple with amazing beats but the energy Carti puts into his songs are felt. As long as Playboi Carti is surrounded by good music and he is able to ride the wave of a beat he will last forever. Listen to this album on Tidal, Spotify or Apple Music.
