Surfing through Soundcloud and receiving suggestions from friends I ran into a producer by the name Gulley who has fire beats. I decided to reach out to him for an interview and this is how it all went down.
TAU: State your name and where you’re from?

TAU: How are you doing today, how is Detroit?
Gulley: Pretty stressful day but I just made a fire beat so it’s looking up Pimpin
TAU: I was introduced to your music through megamanXO also known as wolf boy, cool peoples.
Gulley: Yea that’s fam he goes super crazy wit the art
TAU: I started listening to mayonaka misuto: aside B. What is the story behind that?
Gulley: mayonake misuto (Midnight Mist) is an LP I made with a few friends s/o Satomi The Redfox, Honey, SuperCoolWicked, ADOLF JYN, GOTHFATHUR, Pri$m & Lex it’s really jus some night vibe music you know some shit you kick back & smoke to
TAU: Do you sing or rap or only produce music?
Gulley: I produce, DJ & rap
TAU: mayonaka Misuto is dope by the way. What inspires you?
Gulley: Thanks, Pimpin I truly appreciate that but I honestly all the songs were made while I was jus kickin it with my peoples
TAU: What made you want to produce beats?
Gulley: man nobody was making the beats I wanted to rap on so I said fuck it honestly and started going crazy but I only rapped over 1 of my beats 🤦🏾♂️
TAU: How much was Samurai Champloo or anime an inspiration? I can hear remnants, especially on rainy thoughts.
Gulley: man I love Samurai Champloo, shit anime, in general, the art be crazy but I & Satomi was jus trying to make something original and organic you know but anime is where I get most of my motivation real talk
TAU: What is a good song or project for someone new to you should start listening to?
Gulley: I’d have to say “Hidden Jxxky Temple” or “Manga” but look out for my new LP dropping soon entitled “L+S” featuring DOPEHEAD, ADOLF JYN, NOLAN THE NINJA, JAYE PRIME & a few other artists from Detroit.
