The lyrical genius, Fabolous returns with Summertime Shootout 2: The Level Up and it is as good as the first installment. Summertime Shootout was released last year November and continues that wave with a part 2. Fabolous is well known for his clever punchlines and creative bars and continues to show that he has not missed a step since he first came into the game, 2001 for those that don’t know.

Summertime Shootout 2: The Level Up stand out songs are “Goyard Bag” Featuring Lil Uzi Vert, “4am Flex” featuring Tory Lanez, “For The Family” featuring Dave East and Don Q, and “To The Sky” featuring Shake.

Fabolous verse on “For The Family” is too “NICE”* listening and the breakdown of the song should be an automatic. He references Roc-a-Fella, into detail, every line was flawless. Wouldn’t be mad if anyone said this was verse of the year. Don Q and Dave East do their thing as well but Fabolous really took the cake on this one.

“Goyard Bag” is a a good follow up to the intro, sets a good tone for what you are about to get into.

“4am Flex” features Tory Lanez, this man has been dropping music left and right. If you are familiar with Tory Lanez’s album, I Told You, similar theme with the same song title. Lanez sings the hook well and Loso hops on the beat as if he was play double dutch.

Summertime Shootout 2 is good to hear because this project feels like the base of what hip-hop is. Summertime Shootout 2 gets 4 out of 5 TAU symbols for me. I wanted to give it a 3.5 but it is honestly better than that rating. Fabolous is a classic rapper and most likely be in a Hall of Fame in the future.
