Kid Cudi returns with his newest album Passion, Pain & Demon Slayin’. Kid Cudi last album was Speedin Bullet 2 Heaven, which was a Rock n Roll influenced. Few fans of Kid Cudi did not take the album to well, critics rated his album below par. When he announced, Passion, Pain & Demon Slayin’ it was stated that he was getting back to his roots. Passion, Pain & Demon Slayin did not disappoint his true fans.
Stand Out songs are “Swim in the Light”, “By Design”, “Wounds”, “Surfin”, and “Rose Golden”. Kid Cudi features for Passion, Pain & Demon Slayin’ are somewhat of a surprised. Willow Smith worked on “Rose Golden” and Andre 3000 may have done his best contribution of 2016 with “By Design”.
“Surfin” produced by Pharrell Williams is one of the few cheerful songs Kid Cudi has in his arsenal of music. “Surfin” is a joyous song thats you on your feet. Kid Cudi addressed the drama that was brewing within him about being him in the music industry.
“Swim in the Light” is the second track on the album. “Swim in the Light” attacks Kid Cudi’s depression head on. In seeing the light Cudi knows that there is hope in his depression. Swim in The Light is a favorite song to many and once you hear it you will see why.
Cudi’s comeback, if you want to call it that, is much needed for music. Cudi worked alot with Kanye and his sound has influenced and infected many other artist.
