Tyler, The Creator at one point said that earl sweatshirt is a better rapper than him in an interview. What makes Earl Sweatshirt stand out? Started at sixteen years old rapping with Odd Future so what would make this man a stand out in a group full of oddballs.

Earl Sweatshirt released two studio albums as of 2017, Doris and I Don’t Like Shit, I Don’t Go Outside: An Album by Earl Sweatshirt. Both albums were received with praise. Earl Sweatshirt has a unique balance of hard punchlines and subtle depressive thoughts. Sweatshirt displays this with lines like these,

Chef Sweaty braising your faculty
Face getting gray from the ash, but I’m laughing
That’s the trace in me, nigga
Fuck out my face while I’m thinking
Ain’t step foot up in my momma place for a minute
My days numbered

Effortlessly rhythming words while sinking into a line of depression on the song “Faucet” on his second album I Don’t Like Shit, I Don’t Go Outside: An Album by Earl Sweatshirt. Earl Sweatshirt’s deep and raspy voice works well for him as well. He understands how to use it properly and powerfully. The effect of his voice carries across his pain similar to Future with his auto-tune. Earl Sweatshirt’s depression gets deeper as he gets into his second verse of “Grief”. He carefully slips into a space that is reclusive and you can hear it in his voice and lyrics.

My fleeting thoughts on a leash
For the moment, high as fuck
I’ve been alone in my shit, for the longest
Snakes sliding in the street

At this point, Earl blends his sporadic thoughts with his rhymes to throw the listener off. “Grief” was Earl Sweatshirt’s single for I Don’t Like Shit, I Don’t Go Outside: An Album by Earl Sweatshirt. This song caught many fans and non-fans attention. Now Earl is making more music and driving his music to another level.

As Earl pushes himself and makes more music he because better. The underdog at times in this here rap game, he does share new music like this Detroit performance.

Trying to see who lied to me first. Take a look at Earl Sweatshirt’s catalog you won’t be disappointed.
